このたび，鳥取大学国際乾燥地研究教育機構が学際研究プロジェクトとして実施してきた「砂丘地保全・活用プロジェクト」（プロジェクトリーダー：永松大）の成果をとりまとめた英語書籍「Tottori Sand Dunes -Nature and history of Japan’s most famous coastal dunes-」が今井出版より刊行されました。

本書は，鳥取大学における乾燥地研究の礎である砂丘地に関して，鳥取大学の研究者が明らかにした自然環境の特徴から緑化や砂丘地農業における技術開発，人とのかかわりの歴史，保全の経緯，今日の観光資源としての活用までを広くあつかっています。鳥取砂丘や山陰海岸ジオパークを訪れる海外の方々へのアピールを目的とした書籍で，Amazonでもお求めいただけます。

乾燥地研究センターの教員も執筆に関わり、乾燥地研究センターや前身の砂丘利用研究施設も紹介されています。
