Description
It is a deciduous shrub 2–5 m in height. Imparipinnately compound leaves grow alternately. It has 9–19 folioles. Male flowers and bisexual flowers are attached to different inflorescence of one bulb. In the Arid Land Research Center, it blooms in early April. Has xerotolerance and cold tolerance and can grow at −30 to –41°C. It also has strong disease resistance. It lives more than 200 years. The seed contains 30.8–70% oil and has drawn attention as a biodiesel fuel.
