Among members of genus Agave, has medium-size seeds and is an evergreen succulent plant with a rosette height of 1.2–1.3 m and width of 2 m. Leaf width is 20–30 cm and length 0.4–1.4 cm. In the case of large ones, the number of leaves is 30–50. The leaves are lanceolate, light blue gray with horizontal stripes, and have a rough surface. The leaves have large rust brown serrated teeth on the edges. The flower stalk is 3–6.5m. It has strong xerotolerance and can grow in half shade, but has poor frost tolerance (can grow at −4°C or higher). Propagation is performed by seeding.
The indigenous peoples have used it as a medicine.
