Description
Among members of genus Agave, has medium-size seeds and is an evergreen succulent plant with a rosette height of 51–100 m and diameter of 79–180 cm. Leaf width is 8–10 cm and length 40–76 cm. The leaves are light bluish gray to yellowish green and have large serrated edges. The flower stalk is 4–7m. It may take up to 40 years to bloom. Has xerotolerance, heat tolerance, and cold tolerance (capable of growing at −9°C or higher), but has poor moisture tolerance. Propagation is primarily performed by seeding and rarely by bulbils (adventitious buds developing in inflorescence).
