The details are as below:

(1) Title 1: "Unlocking Sudan's Sesame Potential: Genomic Insights for Climate - Resilient and Nutritionally Enhanced Breeding"
by Mohammed Omer Elsafy, Project Coordinator for four African projects, Department of Plant Breeding, Swedish University of Agricultural Science (SLU), Alnarp, Sweden

(2) Title 2: "SWEET POTATO IN TAJIKISTAN: PAST, CURRENT, AND FUTURE"
by Musavvara SHUKUROVA, PhD, Leading Researcher, Institute of Botany, Plants Physiology and Genetics, the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan, Dushanbe, Tajikistan

Mr Elsafy explained that Sudan is one of the major sesame-producing country and the genetic resources of Sudanese sesame with high content of oil and protein should be exploited to breed the climate-resilient sesame. He also explained the joint project to analyze the genome information on sesame.

Dr Shukurova introduced the situation of the research and extension activities of the sweet potatoes in Tajikistan. Though in Tajikistan people are not well familiar with the sweet potatoes, they are easy to cultivate and rich in nutrition.
