The terminal evaluation report for the SATREPS project in Ethiopia "Development of next-generation Sustainable Land Management (SLM) framework to combat desertification" was released by Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST)

The ALRC implemented the "Development of next-generation Sustainable Land Management (SLM) framework to combat desertification project" under the Science and Technology Research Partnership for Sustainable Development (SATREPS) in Ethiopia from April 2017 to March 2023 as the main research implementing agency.

For the project, one funding agency, the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) released the Terminal Evaluation Report of the project.

The report says that the project fostered an ownership of Ethiopian stakeholders through long-term research and educational exchanges, established the network with practitioners and researchers, and developed a Sustainable Land Management (SLM) framework that incorporates enhanced soil erosion prevention, improved land productivity, and increased farmers' income, and gives an overall rating of "S" (efforts beyond the original plan).
