System for Analyzing Responses of Plants in Dry Lands to Global Warming

System to investigate (1) the effects of CO2 and O3 on the growth of plants and (2) the soil CO2 fixation ability in form of CaCO3 by released CO2 through the plant root respiration under the meteorological conditions in arid land.

Electron Probe Micro-Analyzer

Electron Probe Micro-Analyzer The electron probe micro-analyzer detects X-ray reflections from materials exposed to its electron beam. The specific X-ray patterns provide quantitative information on the chemical elements present in samples.

Dryland Simulation System

Dryland Simulation System This system consists of two simulation chambers: one for semi-tropical desert and one for cold desert. They are used to develop systems for sustainable plant production and soil management techniques.

Experimental System for Analyzing Responses of Dryland plants to Climate Changes

This chamber is equipped with an artificial climate simulation system which allows the simulation of future climate in drylands by controlling the temperature, humidity, lighting, wind speed and concentration of CO2 precisely. Turntables for equal light intensity distribution over the plant samples can be placed in this chamber.
