Dr. Abdalla has worked at the International Center for Agricultural Research in the Dry Areas (ICARDA), and studied on improvement in wheat productivity. This lecture will highlight ICARDA achievements in wheat breeding to tolerance of environmental stresses, especially drought, heat and stem rust that are major constraints in the dryland.

Osman博士は、国際乾燥地農業研究センターで、パンコムギの品種改良に長年携わってこられました。本セミナーでは、乾燥地の環境ストレスの中でも特にコムギの生産に影響の強い乾燥ストレス、高温ストレスおよび黒さび病耐性育種の成果について、ご講演していただきます。

 

 

Marginal-quality Water Resources and Salt-affected Soils in Dry Areas
乾燥地におけるマージナル・ウォーターと塩類土壌

Dr. Qadir has worked at the International Center for Agricultural Research in the Dry Areas, and studied on soil and water management for agriculture in the dry areas. This presentation will highlight the potential of marginal quality water resources and salt-affected soils in agricultural production systems in dry areas.

Qadir 博士は、国際乾燥地農業研究センターに所属し、乾燥地での農業における土壌と水の問題について取り組んでおられます。本講義では、乾燥地の農業生産におけるマージナル・ウォーター（塩水や生活排水などの灌漑にあまり適さない水）の利用や塩類土壌に関する研究についてご講演していただきます。
