- Remote sensing - systems, analytical capabilities, and applications

- Geospatial technologies - integrative capabilities and applications

- Land degradation -causes, consequences, mitigating factors [ this might be part of the seminar as well ]

- Introduction to alternative futures and case studies

Day3 -Case Study for Shiyang He Watershed, Gansu Province, China; Remote Sensing (continued)

- Remote sensing for detecting and monitoring surface and near surface features

- Determination of issues facing stakeholders of the Shiyang He Watershed

- Development of alternative land use scenarious for the watershed

- Spatial allocation of land use scenarious (alternative futures)

- Assessment of consequences of alternative futures

- Evaluation of results
