1. Background of the recruitment :
The Arid Land Research Center (ALRC) is a research institution affiliated to Tottori University, and it serves as a “Joint Usage/Research Center” in the field of dryland science. Please visit our web-site for the further details: http://www.alrc.tottori-u.ac.jp/english/e_index.html.
The Arid Land Research Center is seeking a project researcher with advanced research skills and experience to meet the Center's core challenges in the field of arid land science.
2. Ideal candidate:
The candidate must be able to collaborate with the faculty of the Center to conduct research that contributes to the Center's core research agenda. In particular, the candidate must be able to conduct the research related to integrated approaches for breeding climate-responsive wheat varieties in dry and high temperature environments. Specifically, the Center needs a person who can promote such research in cooperation with faculty members and researchers of the Center in order to establish a scientific basis for breeding for drought and high temperature tolerance by integrating and analyzing the large amount of wheat data acquired so far.
3. Qualifications:
(1) Possess a doctoral degree (Possible acquisition).
(2) Outstanding achievements in academic fields related to "2. Ideal candidate”.
(3) Ability to work collaboratively with research organizations.
(4) For Japanese, ability to communicate in English. For foreign nationals, ability to communicate simply in Japanese.
4. Period of employment:
October 1, 2023 - October 31, 2023. 5 days a week. (8:30-17:15, 7 h 45 min actual working hours)
5. Treatment:
-Conditions of employment including salary are subject to the regulations of Tottori University
-Eligible to apply for Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research
6. Documents required:

(2) List of the candidate’s research achievements (separate into paper publications, conference presentations, and other achievements. Free format)
(3) A summary of the candidate’s main research achievements and future research plan (About 1 page of A4 size paper. Free format)
