Recruitment of Project Researcher

1. Background of the Recruitment:
The Arid Land Research Center (ALRC) is a research institution affiliated to Tottori University, and it serves as a “Joint Usage/Research Center” in the field of dryland science. Please visit our web-site for the further details: http://www.alrc.tottori-u.ac.jp/english/e_index.html.
ALRC has been carrying out “Development of Climate Change Resilient Innovative Technologies for Sustainable Wheat Production in the Dry and Heat Prone Agro-ecologies of Sudan and Sub-Saharan Africa (TAMAM)”. To enhance its activity, we would like to hire an excellent project researcher.


2. Ideal Candidate:
Interested in research " Development of Climate Change Resilient Innovative Technologies for Sustainable Wheat Production in the Dry and Heat Prone Agro-ecologies of Sudan and Sub-Saharan Africa (TAMAM) ", have genetic and molecular biological knowledge and skills for research, and can work in the field abroad.


3. Qualifications:
(1) Possess a doctoral degree (Applicants expected to obtain a doctoral degree by the expected date of employment are also considered.)
(2) Outstanding achievements in academic fields related to "2. Ideal Candidate”.
(3) Ability to work collaboratively with research organizations (Professor Hisashi Tsujimoto, Professor Mitsuru Tsubo, Associate Professor Takayoshi Ishii).
(4) Any nationality is acceptable as long as English skills is excellent.


4. Period of Employment:
From April 1, 2024 to September 30, 2024. No extensions. Start date is negotiable.
Work Hours: Two days per week on weekdays (9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, 7 hours per day)


5. Compensation and Benefits:
-Conditions of employment including salary are subject to the regulations of Tottori University
-Insurance: Health and Welfare, Health, Employment, Workers' Compensation
-Allowances: Commuting allowance
-Eligible to apply for Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research

(3) Summary of track record in research and objectives of future research activities (about 1 page on A4 size paper)

7. Application deadline:March 13, 2024 (Application must arrive no later than 5pm JST.)

8. Selection method:
Screening based on application documents. Interview might be held in case deemed necessary.
** Selection results will be notified regardless of acceptance or rejection.
