The Laboratory of Plant Eco-physiology

　The Laboratory of Plant Eco-physiology aims to conduct research on the elucidation of eco-physiological characteristics of plants and crops and the advancement of appropriate cultivation technologies in arid and semi-arid land. We study, for example, the responses of plants and crops to environmental stresses as well as their relevant mechanisms. An important feature of our laboratory is that the basic research being conducted at our laboratory in Japan are combined with the applied field research in drylands of the world elsewhere, which gives a thorough understanding of the plant responses and the underlying mechanisms.
