|
New | Click here to create a new graph. |
|
Open | Click here to open a graph property file (*.fig) orcompressed backup file(*.fgb). |
|
Open Data | Choose this command to open a datafile (i.e. text file that contains data series). Click here to refer the format of datafile. |
| Open Slide Program | Use this command to open slide-show file (*.fgs) where graph property files (*.fig) to be displayed in the slide-show mode are listed. | |
|
Paste Data | With this command, you can paste data in the clipboard to a text file (datafile). |
|
Save | Use this command to save the current graph. You will be asked whether you overwrite the existing file. |
| Save As | Click here to save the current graph as a new file. You will be asked to rename the current filename. | |
| Back up | With this function, you can make a compressed backup file(*.fgb), which is useful for backup or sending a graph with datafiles to your colleague. | |
|
Choose this to print out the current graph. You can also print out multiple graphs on a page.
| Page Setup | This command opens a dialog with printer information. You can select paper size and direction. | |
|
Output as Graphic File | With this function, you can export the graph as a graphic file to word-processing or presentation softwares. |
| End | Use this command to exit XYGrapher. |
| List of Data Series |
Select here to select and edit attributes of or delete (not delete a graph itself) a dataseries. You can also select and edit a data series by double-clicking on a marker or line of the data series
| Frame and Title | Select here to edit title and flame(such as size of frame, position, title, or font of numerals). You can also edit title and flame by clicking on the title of the graph. | |
| Axes | Select here to edit attributes of an axis. You can also edit an axis by double-clicking on axis or the caption of the axis. Xb axis: horizontal axis at the bottom Xt axis: horizontal axis at the top Yl axis: vertical axis at the left Yr axis: vertical axis at the right |
|
| Legends | Select here to edit text and attributes of a legend. You can also edit a legend by double-clicking on the legend. | |
| Arrows | Select here to select, edit, or delete an arrow. |
| Zoom of Display | Input zoom factor (%) you prefer. You can also zoom-in or out by 25 % using buttons or right click menu |
|
| Navy backfround | If select here, background color is changed to navy and color of characters and frames are changed to white. Select here again to restore to original colors. | |
| Reload Datafiles | Reload datafiles and plot again. This is convenient when a numerical solution is updated. You can call this function with [F5] key. [Reference]Option - Auto Reflesh |
| Legend | Legend: Insert a new legend. | |
| Curve | Draw(D): Continous free variables are created and corresponding (bound) values which follow user-defined function are drawn. Linear Fitting(L): Select here to perform linear fitting (regression analysis), which gives a line or simple curve that best fits the data. Nonlinear Fitting(N): Select here to perform non-linear fitting, which gives a flexible curve that best fits the data. To edit existing curve, select [Edit]-[List of Data Series] or double-click on the curve. Set Common Parameters: You can set common (global) parameter values which are applicable to multiple curves in the figure. |
|

Arrow: Insert a new arrow. Move mouse to stating point and left-click. Move to end point keeping left-click and release the left click.
| Background Image: You can insert a background image./td> |
| List | Select here to display the list of graphs called in a slide-show and edit the slide-show. | |
![]() |
Show | Run the slide-show. |
| Integral: Integral between lower and upper boundary is calculated. | |
| Get y-value at given x: Linearly interpolated y-value at given x is shown. | |
| Get x-value at given y: Linearly interpolated x-value at given y is shown. | |
| Get value at at given x and y: Linearly interpolated value at given x and y is shown. This can be used in countour map mode. | |
| Calculate RMSE of two data series: RMSE value between two data series is calculated. If x value is different, linear interpolation is carried out. |
| Scale | Input size of your display(length of diagonal) in inch to show the graph at an actual size. | |
| Zoom of print | Sizes such as margin or width of frame is multipied with the zoom factor in printing. | |
| Auto Reflesh | By selecting here, XYGrapher watches data files at a second interval and automatically reloads datafiles and redraw the graph when a data file is changed。
